Starting a home internet business can be both an exciting and stressful situation. Assuming you have joined an established internet business and have a sponsor and mentor that is going to help you this information may not be new to you, but maybe packaged a little differently. If you’ve done your homework about your company and sponsor they should have a pretty good outline to follow to be successful. But what if your sponsor has only a few months more experience than you? Uh Oh! Not to worry. Follow this quick start guide and you will be started on your way to loads of traffic for your business web-page.

Most companies will set you up with their standard web-page, but how can you compete with all the other people marketing for your same company? Let’s say your company is Xyz Widgets. Number one, the rest of the world has never heard of Xyz Widgets and therefore will not be doing a search on the company name. Try to remember how you found your company. It was likely by accident through a search on a “key word phrase” that you entered into your Google search bar like Home Internet Business or something like that. So what that means is that you need a “lead capture page” for your prospects to start at. This is going to be a small web-page based on a “key word phrase” that they “clicked” on (ie. Hyperlink) to get there. You can do a search on lead capture pages to see what I am talking about if don’t know. Now, you will choose your key word phrase based on its ability to get “ranked” by google. Start with a good keyword tool such as Good Keywords (it’s free). Type in a phrase like “make money online” and it will display all of the related search terms and the number of searches for the last month. Look for a phrase that might have 4000-8000 searches. Then take that phrase and go to www.searchguild.com/difficulty to see how difficult it would be to get google ranked for that phrase. Stick with a phrase that is no more than intermediate difficulty. Remember, your ultimate goal is a first page listing on google. So now you have a search term, now what?

Your “lead capture page” will also be your URL or your Key Word Phrase as a web address (www.keywordphrase.com). You can check the availability of your web page at godaddy and you may have to slightly modify your keyword/phrase with an extra word. For example if your phrase is Make Money Online, you might try MakeMoneyOnlineToday.com. This overall process may take a couple of days to refine and research and is the starting point for your web presence.
